Mrs. Hsu Terry Wang, the president of the New World Bilingual Institute (NWBI) was invited to Co-Sponsor the Washington DC, USA and PongLai, China “Ode to Peace International Culture & Art Festival”, on July 27-30, 2006. This festival offers an incredible opportunity to see a wonderful extravaganza of beauty, culture and dance in a peace festival. Aligned with the values of a liberal arts education, the audience will experience the rich history and culture of China and other countries, in an exquisite and exciting artistic exchange.
The Opening Gala was at Washington Chinese Culture Center with the Dignitaries on both Cities and the performer of Beijing ShaoLin WuShu Academy.

are up raising 10th grade Students of Thomas Jefferson High School Science and Technology (TJHSST)
were invited to the serve the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Banquet, watch the WuShu performance, chat with the distinguished guests and had a nice Banquet food on Friday, July 28, 2006.
The Opening Ceremony “Ode to Peace International Culture & Art Festival” was at Washington Monument Sylvan Theater on July 29.

Mrs. Wang introduced
the Gavel club Youth Leaders who are all students of TJHSST —
Kathy Hutchinson read the letters from President George W. Bush; and
2 Speakers -Viola Li and David Wang
gave the Peace Theme Speeches with mission and call for action messages.
There were 10 ethnic groups to perform the diversity cultural show. It was a success event and great International Culture & Art Festival experience for all the youth leaders.

The NWBI Gavel Club is here as the bridge to link your talents and abilities to the world leader’s level today. Gavel Club members learn to build the solid confidence and advanced youth leadership and communication skills with the educational manual and resources from the Toastmasters International.
Mrs. Hsu Terry Wang, DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster), President of NWBI, served as the Advisor and mentor. Mr. Charlie Hall, DTM also served as a mentor, Many other Toastmasters are invited to give educational, Motivational and inspirational speeches bi-weekly.
NWBI Champion TM Gavel Club I (9th to 12 Grader) with 30 + members.
It has Chartered by Toastmasters International World Head Quater on July 3,2006.
The Chartered Certificate is # 935954.
NWBI Champion TM Gavel Club II (5th to 8th grader)—with 20 members. It will be Chartered in September.
Both clubs are open to all ethnic groups.
